Uncultured offender: Me? Step on u? Where? When? How? I didn't step on you .


OR

Can't you see that I was falling and was trying to hold myself? Did I purposely step on you?

Cultured offender: oh I am sorry my dear, it wasn't intentional.

The offended person will certainly find it easier to forgive d second respondent. Bring down tension and avoid strife and conflict by being more humble, more civilized, truly repentant and tendering sincere apology.
